When it comes to imbibing in boozy beverages at Disney World, most people probably think of drinking around the World Showcase at EPCOT.
And, while we certainly aren’t against that — we’re here to offer you a different type of pub crawl. Did you know that there is an unofficial Disney World pub crawl that will take you on a journey through the skies to two parks and multiple hotels? That’s right, we’re bringing you our ultimate guide to a Skyliner pub crawl at Disney World!
Disney’s Skyliner is the newest method of transportation to come to Disney World. With stops at two different theme parks and four Disney Resort hotels, many guests use the Skyliner to make their way around the property. So, let’s board our gondola and head out on our Skyliner pub crawl!
We’re starting our pub crawl off strong by heading to EPCOT for some libations in the World Showcase. Over in the Mexico Pavilion, we recommend stopping by La Cava del Tequila for a classic margarita — or one of the many, many specialty margaritas they have here! We especially love the Lily Margarita. And as an added bonus, you can get chips, salsa, and guac here too!
While we’re at EPCOT, we’re heading to Garden House in the Japan Pavilion to try their Violet Sake! This drink is made from sake, purple pear, and lime juice — and is dangerously delicious. It’s perfectly refreshing on a hot Florida day, too.
Speaking of refreshing beverages, if you haven’t tried any of the wine slushes at Les Vins de Chefs de France in the France Pavilion you are seriously missing out! Two favorites are the Orange Slush — which we think tastes like a creamsicle — and the Citron Slush, a tart, boozy, frozen lemonade. While you’re there, head on over to Les Halles to stock up on some carbs!
If you’re looking for beer on this pub crawl, you can find it at just about any World Showcase pavilion, but we’d recommend heading to the United Kingdom, Canada, or Germany for the best selections. Plus, you can stop for some fish and chips or bratwurst!
Not to mention, there’s pretty much always a festival happening at EPCOT, and we’ve had some of our favorite drinks at festival booths (like the Lily Margarita!).
Next stop on our Skyliner pub crawl is Disney’s Riviera Resort. Head to Le Petit Cafe for a nice glass of wine in a quiet atmosphere, or make your way to Bar Riva for cocktails! One of our favorites is the Almande Grog — a mix of Courvoisier VS Cognac, Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Disaronno Originale, apricot, honey, lemon, and soda water.
We’re hopping back in our gondola and making our way to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for some tropical poolside beverages at Banana Cabana, like the Jamaican Frozen Rum Runner. This heavy hitter is made with Appleton Estate Reserve Rum and Bailey’s Irish Cream, blended with pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and fresh banana. We’ll take 12.
After sitting poolside at Caribbean Beach, we’re heading over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to check out their pool bar, The Drop Off. Here you can get a variety of cocktails and beers, and we happen to love the Blue Ocean made with Bacardi Rum, Svedka Vodka, blue curaçao, and Odwalla Lemonade. We’ve also seen some really great seasonal drinks at The Drop Off, so be sure to ask if there are any specials while you’re on your pub crawl.
Rounding out our tour of Skyliner Resort bars is the Petals Pool Bar at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Much like The Drop Off at Art of Animation, Petals serves specialty tropical cocktails and more. One of our favorites is the Strawberry Margarita. It’s made with Herradurra Reposado Tequila, fresh lime juice, and strawberry puree. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
Ready for our last Skyliner stop? Let’s head over to Hollywood Studios!
We love stopping by BaseLine Tap House for a beer and a pretzel while we’re at Hollywood Studios. Serving up a variety of beers with an excellent view, BaseLine is one of our favorite spots to just take a minute and chill while enjoying some liquid courage and people watching. And seriously, you’re going to want to get that pretzel.
Our next stop at Hollywood Studios is the Tune In Lounge, which is connected to 50s Prime Time Cafe. You used to be able to order select food items from Prime Time, but that has yet to return since the parks have reopened. There isn’t much seating in Tune In, so this is a spot where you’ll probably want to get your drinks to go before heading to your next stop.
Of course, we can’t mention drinks at Hollywood Studios without mentioning Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Although you do need a reservation for Oga’s and can’t technically walk right in, we still think it’s worthy of a spot on the Skyliner pub crawl. With exciting cocktails like the Fuzzy Tauntaun that can make your mouth tingle, Oga’s is definitely a must-do for drinks at Hollywood Studios.
There are so many great spots to grab a drink along the Skyliner, and this is by no means an exhaustive list (looking at you, Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge!), but it’s a great jumping off point. So cheers, and don’t forget to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news!
