PHOTOS: Go Inside an Old Key West Deluxe Studio Hotel Room in Disney World

Hey, do you know which hotel no one talks about? Probably not, because no one talks about it! Okay, okay, we’re kidding, but really — we hear about Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort all the time, and even the All-Star Resorts are pretty popular. But what about Disney’s Old Key West Resort? It’s high time we pay a visit to this quiet little DVC resort and show you what it’s about!

Hello from Disney’s Old Key West resort!

If you’re unfamiliar with this hotel, Old Key West was the original Disney Vacation Club Resort. It was designed to feel less like a hotel and more like, well, home! Not only that, but a SUPER underrated restaurant knowing that Olivia’s Cafe is tucked away at this resort — try the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken and thank us later. 😉 Now that you’ve got a little background, Come with us as we tour a room at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

We stayed in a Deluxe Studio (room 3426), which had two queen-size beds, a small kitchen area, and a balcony.

Welcome home!

right when you enter, you’ll notice that this room doesn’t look quite like most standard Disney hotels. The room is pretty open and the layout is a little more nontraditional. We liked it!

Our room

There was plenty of beachy decorlike this Disney inspired art printand the furniture reminded us of what you would see in a beach house. It was cozy, comfortable, and casual!

This room is pretty big!

The walls were a light seafoam green-ish color, and there was plenty of natural light from the large windows and clear glass doors.

We loved themed artwork in our hotels!

At night, though all those windows close upso the room gets nice and dark for bedtime.

Peep the balcony!

The beds are nice and big! you get plenty of pillows (plus a few more in the closet), and there’s room under each bed for your luggage.

The beds look pretty comfy!

We’re definitely nitpicking here, but does it bother anyone else that the headboard extends past the bed?

There’s room under each bed for your luggage, too!

And while we’re on the subject of nitpicking, we wish that those light fixtures could move just a smidge to the left. It’s off center! Other than that, though, our room was lovely.

The urge to move that light fixture is STRONG

In between the main bedroom and the bathroom is a Small kitchen area with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker.

There’s a small kitchen area

If you bring home any leftovers (maybe a Gideon’s Bakehouse cookie?), this is a great little area to keep your foods.

Pop tarts, anyone? We’ve got the toaster!

Not to start any drama, but we’ve seen a LOT of Disney World mini fridges in our time, and this one is definitely the biggest we’ve ever seen. (Even compared to some of the most expensive hotels in Disney World!👀)

This is bigger than the fridge in the Star Wars hotel!

Under the sink, you’ll find some paper towels, a trash can, and extra toilet paper.

Some paper towels and a mini trash can!

Right across from the kitchen area is a small closet with all the things you’d expect to find in a closet: hangers, pillows, blankets, a luggage rack, and some cleaning supplies.

How OLD is that vacuum??

Finally, the bathroom! The bathroom is a nice size and is full of bright light.

To the bathroom!

There’s plenty of towels here…

Plenty of towels

..and over here! sadly, there’s only one sinkbut this is such a nice bathroom we’ll let it slide.

Large sink

the shower is nice and spacious! Guests may use the Disney-provided soap, or bring their own; there’s a small shelf build into the shower for extra shampoos.

Clean shower

Finally, here’s a look at our little balcony! That table is teeeeeny tiny, but it fits the space. We had a nice view of the tennis courts and some pretty Florida palm trees.

A little balcony

That concludes our full tour of a deluxe studio studio room at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The room is spacious and welcoming, making it perfect for a small family looking for a quiet resort! Although this is known as a DVC hotel, anyone is welcome to stay at the resort (you’ll just need to rent some DVC points for select rooms). Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news, updates, and reviews.
