It’s officially springtime at Disney World, which means Spring Break crowds have ARRIVED!
Between the continuing 50th Anniversary Celebration and the 2022 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, guests are flocking to the parks to take advantage of all the fun! And, if you’re planning an upcoming trip, you might want to know about all the construction and changes going on throughout Disney World. So, let’s check out everything you need to know!
TRON: Lightcycle Run
We recently found out that the next phase of the TRON coaster would be starting soon — ride vehicle testing! And this week, we happened to spot ride vehicles on the track.
This is known as the push/pull test, where sections of the train are slowly moved throughout the track to ensure they’re working properly. Check out this video to see it in action!

even though Disney has still not shared a projected opening date for this ridewe can’t help but hope this means we’re getting close!
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Tron Ride
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Last time we checked in on this ride, we saw some big developments on the queue entrance markersand it looks like those are still coming along nicely with the addition of some plants too!
and some weathering effects are being added to the Nova Corps Starblaster, too.
We are on the edge of our seats waiting until summer 2022 when this ride will officially open!
Connections Cafe and Eatery
A big update happened over at Connections Cafe last week — the sign went up!
and this week crews are finishing up painting on the exterior of the building.
Disney announced that Connections Cafe and Eatery would be open in spring 2022, so stay tuned for more updates on an official date!

Moana: Journey of Water
We got an incredible shot of the progress on this attraction from the monorail that shows just how huge of an area it will encompass!
For now, it looks like crews are still busy clearing out the area and laying the foundation for what will eventually be a brand-new, immersive attraction.

Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
The gift shop that once greeted you as you exited Toy Story Mania is no more, but it is in the process of being transformed into something BRAND NEW — we just aren’t totally sure what’s going in its place yet!
For now, Disney is keeping us out of the loop and the gift shop by covering the entrances with scrims. We’ll keep you posted on any updates from this location!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest remains closed in Disney’s Animal Kingdombut we’re counting down until the scheduled maintenance is completed and we can ride it once again!
If all goes according to plan, there should only be about a month left in this refurbishment process as Disney has stated Everest will be open once again mid-April 2022.
There’s quite a bit of work going on over at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, but it appears to mostly be on the exterior of the buildings.
Cast Members weren’t able to confirm just exactly what what’s going on here but it looks like routine maintenance to us!
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as the work on this hotel progresses.
the front desk at this OG Disney Resort hotel is getting a little bit of a makeover — we think! There was a black curtain up blocking the desk from view on our last visit.
We’ll keep an eye out for updates on this project — so stay tuned.
Construction has begun on the new DVC Villas at Disney’s Grand Florida Resort & Spa!
The Big Pine Key building is being transformed to make way for the new rooms. Disney expects the renovations to be completed sometime during Summer 2022.

While the construction technically hasn’t started just yet… we thought it was important enough to mention the new DVC Villas coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in late 2024!
Disney stated that they would be sharing more details soon, so be sure to stick with DFB to get the latest updates!
