After visiting the Disneyland Park Resort over the years, I (Marisol) have become quite accustomed to eating my traditional treats and dishes at the park. On my recent trip, I experienced two new items that I had never enjoyed before at Disney California Adventure Park.
Disneyland California Adventure Park
Disneyland California Adventure Park opened on February 8, 2001 as part of the Disneyland Resort. Its original concept of the park was originally intended to represent the state of California. Over the years since its opening, Disneyland California Adventure Park has gone through many different changes, adding and changing attractions, shows and rides in order to promote and boosting attendance. in 2007, Disney announced that a major overhaul expansion of the theme park would include Buena Vista Street and Cars Land.
Dining inside Disney California Adventure Park offers a variety of different menu items and cuisines in its many lands. For a luxurious fine dining experience, guests can enjoy Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vista Street. For those guests that are big cars fans, Cozy Cone and Flo’s V8 Café offer many delectable film inspired items. Disney California Adventure Park is also home of the Food & Wine Festival and the Festival of Holidays.
Fried Chicken At Flo’s V8 Cafe
Flo’s V8 Cafe is a quick service indoor and outdoor venue that features food inspired by cafes along Route 66. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Specialty breakfast items include French toast with salted caramel and bananas as well as chicken tamales with scrambled eggs. Flo’s diner serves burgers, sandwiches, pot pies, and its famous fried chicken.
Speaking of fried chicken, believe me when I say that it is one of the most sought after food items at the Disneyland Resort. Fried chicken can be found in two locations at the Disneyland Resort: Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park and Flo’s V8 Café in Disney California Adventure Park.
This delicious dish features three pieces of herb-seasoned fried chicken served with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and a buttermilk biscuit if enjoyed at the Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park for $18.99. Flo’s Famous Fried Chicken includes roasted garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and seasonal vegetables. Disney does not offer a biscuit with this meal. The cost is $18.99. Annual Passholders can apply a discount to both menu offerings.
It’s perfectly breaded, spiced, juicy, tender, and delicious. The fried chicken meal is priced at $18.99which makes it one of the most expensive quick service meals in the park, but you definitely get what you pay for.
Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream
Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream is the place to visit to enjoy a hand-dipped ice cream bar, sundae, ice creams served in cups, cones and cute souvenir bowls. The ice cream parlor is located on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park. It is named after Clarabelle Cow.
The Art Deco ice cream parlor is very small in space and in fact does not offer any seating. However, seating is available next door at Fiddler/Starbucks.
Guests will find two signs that indicate the menu items. Scoops and Cups over Dipped Waffle Cone Cups and Waffle Cone Cups. The ice cream flavors that are available are: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, rocky road, chocolate chip, cookie dough and vanilla (no sugar added).
In the mood for a hand-dipped ice-cream bar? Just follow the sign for instructions!

Step Three: Choose Your Topping. Your freshly dipped chocolate-covered ice cream bar will be dipped a second time in either: chocolate chip morsels, pearls, sprinkles, Mickey’s confetti, or blue raspberry bursts (Pop Rocks).
In the mood for a sundae? Each sundae includes large scoops of ice cream, toppings, whipped cream and cherries served up in the Mickey, Minnie Mouse or Mickey Ear Hat souvenir dish. Non souvenir dishes are also available for sundaes.
Choice of any Sundae served in a souvenir Mickey Mouse kitchen sink: The Oswald Sundae, Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae, Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae or Strawberry Sundae
Choice of any Sundae served in a souvenir Minnie Mouse Kitchen Sink: The Oswald Sundae, Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae, Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae or Strawberry Sundae
Choice of any Sundae served in a Together Again Mickey Mouse Ear Hat Bowl: The Oswald Sundae, Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae, Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae or Strawberry Sundae
It was on obvious decision to select the Mickey Mouse Kitchen Sink. My daughter quickly noted that she wanted to use it as a sink for her dolls at home. She even came up with the idea of how to make it a functional sink with water and a drainage system!
We chose mint chocolate chip and rocky road ice cream as our flavors. For our toppings, we selected whipped cream, cherries and chocolate chips. I initially thought that it would take us a bit to eat the entire kitchen sink. Trust me when I say that we completely ate it all in a matter of minutes! It was so delicious!
One thing to keep in mind is that the ice cream is not served inside the plastic sink itself. Rather, it is served in a plastic covering that goes over the plastic. This made it extremely feasible to take it out when we had finished our sundae! My daughter was happy that there would not be a big mess to wash out in the bathroom.
We were quite content with branching out and trying two new food items at the Disneyland Resort. It is quite easy to grow accustomed to our must-haves and routine goodies that we like to enjoy. However, I highly recommend visiting the park and trying out new items that you may have never enjoyed before! we 100% recommend the fried chicken and the ice cream sundae at the Disneyland Resort!
