Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Food Updates

Capt. Cook’s

the 50th anniversary cupcake at the Polynesian Village Resort recently got a serious downgrade. When we had it last year, it was topped with a Pineapple Macaron, Buttercream Icing, other graham cracker crumbs, with a DOLE Whip Pineapple Custard filling. Dole Whip — IN THE CUPCAKE. It was perfection.

But now, it’s a vanilla cupcake with Pineapple Cream Cheese Filling topped with Pineapple Icing, a Chocolate Pineapple, and a Glitter-covered Flower. Um…what?

50th celebration cupcake

Although it’s still pretty, the flavors just aren’t as good. It’s available, though, at both Kona Cafe and Capt. Cook’s for $5.99.
